1) Depersonalization and derealization

Depersonalization refers to feeling unreal, removed from one’s self, and detached from one’s physical and mental processes. Patients feel like an observer of their life, as if they were watching themselves in a movie. Patients may even feel as if transiently, they do not inhabit their bodies. Derealization refers to experiencing familiar people and surroundings as if they were unfamiliar, strange, or unreal.

2) Depression

Depression when exhibited with other symptoms of DID may be classified as severe or ‘clinical depression’. This type of depression tends to interfere greatly with a persons day to day life.

3) Compulsions or rituals
A person in a dissociative state may have compulsions or ritual behaviors which help them deal with stress. They may also when agitated, in a stressful situation or in a situation in which they are exposed to a ‘trigger’. It may involve behavior, speech or thought.

4)Sleep disorders

Some example about sleep disorder is insomnia. The person will having difficulty for getting sleep. Further info can be done here. Other examples are sleep walking and night terror.

5) Amniesia

Amnesia in MPD is marked by gaps in the patient’s memory for long periods of their past, and, in some cases, their entire childhood. Most MPD patients have amnesia, or “lose time,” for periods when another personality is “out.” They may report finding items in their house that they can’t remember having purchased, finding notes written in different handwriting, or other evidence of unexplained activity.

6) Identity Disturbance .

Persons suffering from MPD usually have a main personality that psychiatrists refer to as the “host.” This is generally not the person’s original personality, but is rather one developed in response to childhood trauma. It is usually this personality that seeks psychiatric help. MPD patients are often frightened by their dissociative experiences, which can include losing awareness of hours or even days, meeting people who claim to know them by another name, or feeling “out of body.”

Overview

Multiple personality disorder (MPD) also known as Dissociative Identity disorder are most likely the most rare disease. This disease, unfortunately does not have a fix medicine or drug to cure it. MPD is a psychiatric diagnosis that describes a condition in which a single person displays multiple distinct identities or personalities (known as alter egos or alters), each with its own pattern of perceiving and interacting with the environment.

MPD, in fact is a very controversial disease. This because many commonly disputed points about MPD. These viewpoints critical of MPD can be quite varied, with some taking the position that MPD does not actually exist as a valid medical diagnosis, and others who think that MPD may exist but is either always or usually an adverse side effect of therapy. MPD diagnoses initially appeared to be almost entirely confined to the North American continent, but later surveys found cases on other continents but at significantly lower rates.

Thanks to medicinenet.com, the quoted part showed the not all professional agreed that MPD/DID exist.

Some professionals continue to be of the opinion that DID does not exist. The nature of this skepticism is sometimes due to questions about why many more individuals who have endured the stress of terrible abuse as young children do not develop the disorder, why more children are not diagnosed as having DID, and why some DID sufferers have no history of tremendous trauma. One explanation for what some believe to be these inconsistencies is that given the highly complex and unknown nature of the human brain and psyche, many of those whom one would expect to develop dissociative identity disorder are spared due to their resilience. Another concern about the diagnosis of DID involves having to rely on the traumatic memories of those who suffer from this disorder. That DID is significantly more often assessed in individuals in North America compared to the rest of the world, for the most part, leads some practitioners to believe that DID is a culture-based myth rather than a true disorder. As with many other mental-health issues, symptoms of the same disorder in children look very different than in adults. Studies that verify the presence of DID using multiple resources add credibility to the diagnosis. Research on individuals with DID that have little to no media exposure to information on the illness lends further credibility to the reliability of this diagnosis.

Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is firstly described by German psychiatrist and neuropathologist Alois Alzheimer in 1906 and was named after him. ognised symptom is memory loss, such as difficulty in remembering recently learned facts. This disease, however cannot be cured since now despite many reasearch have been conducted over the decade.

Preventing is more crucial than curing. While there are not elixir yet found for this disease, the some ways to prevent and to reduce the effect of Alzheimer’s disease.

1. Change your life style!

Physical activities are effectively to reduce the major effect of Alzheimer’s Disease. By doing exercise for moderate pace most of us can slow down the effects. There is a fact that said five workouts every seven days can reduce your risk of Alzheimer’s by as much as 35%.

2. Get enough sleep.

Poor sleep can significantly damage your brain and central nervous system. Our brain also need some rest because process, store, and recall information may burden our brain, hence regular and enough sleep needed.

3. Healthy diet.

Alzheimer’s also describe as diabetics of brains. The American Academy of Neurology recently warned elevated cholesterol in your 40’s increases your risk of Alzheimer’s. For the diet tips, you can view my previous post on 10 cheap tips on maintain your healthy diet and on Valary Fortie’s post on Lower your Cholesterol on Mediterranean Diet.

4. Secure our brain!

By the time Alzheimer’s disease appears, irreversible damage has already occurred. Preventing and delaying Alzheimer’s includes three protective tips:

Avoid toxins – Among the most preventable risk factors for Alzheimer’s disease are smoking and heavy drinking. Not only does smoking increase the odds for those over 65 by nearly 79%, researchers at Miami’s Mt. Sinai Medical Center warn that a combination of these two behaviors reduces the age of Alzheimer’s onset by six to seven years.

Create a brain-safe environment - The evidence on modern technology is mixed. Scientists continue to examine links between neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s and exposure to environmecontaminants.

5. Stress management.

In a research conducted by Dr. Vincent Fortanasce, stress may triple or quadruple the effect of the Alzheimer. By getting proper management of stress, one may reduce or prevent this disease. From an article post on newscient.com, here some news from experiment conducted by several scientist of stress affecting Alzheimer.

Brief periods of stress can cause a rapid rise in the brain proteins linked to Alzheimer’s disease, according to a study in mice.

Just three days of stress caused an abrupt 42% increase in brain proteins thought to cause the disease. The study helps to shed light on why people who experience great stress and anxiety appear more prone to this illness, experts say.

While most of people getting this disease, lets do the the tips given above, to protect your life!.

If you have bald family members, you may be especially nervous about waking up one morning to find you pillow covered with hair, or your hair brush with more hairs than your head. If this sounds like something that you worry about, then you might want to learn some hair loss prevention tips.

1- One widely held belief is that the over use of chemicals on the hair can cause hair thinning and eventually hair loss. If you like to enhance the look of your hair through chemical means, but are nervous about future hair loss, it is a good idea to only have this type of work done by a licensed beautitian. Many do-it-yourselfers are too inexperienced to properly perform chemical treatments to their hair, having a tendacncy to over apply the products. If you do color your hair, it is thought best to keep the frequency to a six or eight week minimum.

2- It is important to eat healthy foods and ensure that your body is getting the vitamins and minerals that it needs. Often times the body will show poor health in the hair follicles and finger nails before and actual illness is detected. While it is important to get enough of the right nutrients, it is just as important not to get too much of any one type of vitamin. For example, too much of vitamins A and E, have been linked to hair loss.

3- When and if an illness is detected, it is important to take care of your health needs. If the doctor has prescribed medications, take it. Failure to follow the doctors advise will cause your body to work harder just to stay alive, it won’t have enough energey to keep the hair follicles growing and will eventually lead to hair loss. This is an excellent form of hair loss prevention.

4- The style that you wear your hair can also be a hair loss prevention opportunity. When ever possible, avoid pulling hair into styles that require it to be pulled tight and bound with elastic for long periods of time. While hair accessories have become much more hair friendly during recent years, hairstyle such as tight ponytail, pig tails and cornrows can still do damage to the hair shaft and ultimately to the hair follicle.

5- A way to pamper yourself doubles as a hair loss prevention idea. Using satin or silk pillowcases, is thought to prevent hair loss due to the fact that a silk or satin pillowcase will cause less friction while sleeping than a cotton or flannel pillowcase. This is because the head and the hair slide across the pillow instead of needing to be forcefully pushed across.

6- There is a whole group of old wives’s tales that relate to hair loss prevention. These tips definatly won’t hurt to try, but really don’t do anything to combat the issue of hair loss. For instance, it has been said that standing upside down will increase blood flow to the head and that massaging the scalp or briskly brushing the hair will make the hair stay put and not fall out. This is simply not the case.

7- It is important to remember that even in a healthy person, it is completely normal to lose between 50 and 100 hairs from the head every day. If you feel that your hair loss issues are beyond that norm, speak with your doctor or dermatologist about your concerns. They will be able to determine if the hair loss is due to a medical or age issue, and point you in the right treatment direction.

Overview

Insomnia is a symptom of any of several sleep disorders, characterized by persistent difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep despite the opportunity. Insomnia is a symptom, not a stand-alone diagnosis or a disease. By definition, insomnia is “difficulty initiating or maintaining sleep, or both” and it may be due to inadequate quality or quantity of sleep. It is typically followed by functional impairment while awake. Both organic and non-organic insomnia without other cause constitute a sleep disorder, primary insomnia.

Causes

Insomnia can be caused by several reasons, sometimes there is one main cause, but often several factors interacting together will cause a sleep disturbance. Here the list of causes of insomnia:

Jet lag

Changes in shift work

Excessive or unpleasant noise

Uncomfortable room temperature

Presence of an acute medical or surgical illness or hospitalization

Withdrawal from drug, alcohol, sedative, or stimulant medications

Insomnia related to high altitude

Anxiety, a condition in which individuals feel increased tension, apprehension, and feelings of helplessness, fear, worry, and uncertainty.

Medical conditions. These include allergies, arthritis, asthma, heart disease, high blood pressure, hyperthyroidism, and Parkinson’s disease.

Overuse of caffeine and alcohol.

Symptom

Each person experiences insomnia differently. People with insomnia may:

Have trouble falling asleep. This can mean lying in bed for up to an hour or more, tossing and turning, waiting to fall asleep.

Wake up and have trouble falling back to sleep.

Wake up too early in the morning.

Feel tired when they wake up, like they didn’t get enough sleep.

Feel grouchy, sleepy, or anxious, and be unable to get things done during the daytime.

there are many small countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea and each of
them boasts their own variations on this healthful diet. What they all
seem to share in common are these simple principles:
1) Get plenty of exercise.
2) Eat with friends and family.
3) Instead of salt, use herbs and spices to season food.
4) Consume very little red meat, making certain cheeses, bread, vegetables
and fruit the mainstays of your
diet.
5) Use healthy oils like olive and canola.
6) Drink red wine, in moderation.
7) Eat fish once or twice a week.

The Sardinians, in central Italy, are likely to add six-years to their
life expectancy because of their variation of the Mediterranean Diet. One
unique aspect of the diet from this culture is vino nero, literally
meaning “black wine”. It is one of the darkest red wines produced and is
believed to create antioxidants that actually scrub the arteries when it
is served with the meal. Drinking it with the meal is imperative for
optimal results.

Another fact that sets the Sardinians apart from others consuming the
Mediterranean diet is that they don’t put much emphasis on eating fish.
It, along with red meat, is reserved for special occasions and is not one
of their diet staples. As a protein mainstay in Sardinia, pecorino sardo,
is a common part of any meal. It is cheese made from the milk of grass-fed
goats and contains high levels of Omega-3 fatty acids. Other standard fair
on a Sardinian table will include:
1) carta de musica – a very thin whole wheat bread high in Vitamin D
2) leavened bread
3) fava beans
4) almonds and hazel nuts
5) Cannonou, the beverage of choice, boasts the highest levels of
antioxidants of any other dark red wine
in the world.

Health experts applaud it and those who have eaten it, say it’s delicious.
The Sardinian version of the Mediterranean diet may be exactly what you
need to get your heart health back on track and actually enjoy the
flavorful process.

While most of people know that being overweight are lead to many health problem such as diabetes, coronary heart disease, high blood pressure, and colon cancer. This information however is not yet completed. Morever, bieng overweight also contributing bone pain.

For example, my untie has suffered osteoporosis because her body backbone cant support the heavy body then leading to osteoporosis.
For an extra, here the information that i got from the the internet:
“While being ‘a bit’ overweight might offer some protection against osteoporosis, the serious chronic medical conditions that are closely related to carrying extra pounds outweigh any benefits to bone.

After menopause, women produce estrogen in fat tissues, so thin women are likely to produce lower levels of their own natural estrogens than are heavier women, and estrogens are known to prevent osteoporosis and related fractures.

In addition, most research studies that evaluate the influence of body weight on bone health focus on the risks of low body weight. Women who weigh less than 127 pounds are at greater risk for developing osteoporosis than are women who weigh more. Women who suffer from eating disorders significant enough to alter their normal menstrual cycles also are at greater risk for developing osteoporosis.

In short, weight that falls within the normal range is best for overall health.

NOF encourages women to eat a balanced diet, exercise regularly and maintain their body weight within normal limits for their height. Medical problems develop when body weight falls below or climbs above those limits.” (taken from Osteoporosis
